Position Description
The Department of Mathematics at Colgate University is accepting applications for a 1-year visiting assistant professorship starting Fall 2026. Completion of a PhD in mathematics is expected prior to, or shortly after, the date of hire. Evidence of excellence in teaching is required. The successful candidate will, in the course of each academic year, teach five sections of our elementary courses (typically, Calculus I, II, or III). Each semester there will be at most two different course preparations required. A complete application requires a cover letter, vita, a teaching statement, three letters of recommendation (at least two of which address teaching in detail), a completed AMS Cover Sheet, and, if available, teaching evaluations.
