The Department of Mathematics in CUHK has developed a strong reputation in teaching and research. Many of the faculty members are internationally renowned and are recipients of prestigious awards and honours. The graduates are successful in both academia and industry. The Department is highly ranked internationally, e.g., it is 31st and 37th in the 2020 and 2021 QS World University Rankings, and 46th and 41st in the 2020 and 2021 US News Rankings, respectively.
The Department has two openings for Research Assistant Professors and several openings for Postdoctoral Fellows. The Department is now inviting applications for non-substantiable posts at Research Assistant Professor (RAP) / Postdoctoral Fellow (Post-doc) levels in all areas of Mathematics beginning in August 2022. We seek promising young mathematicians whose research areas match the areas of our faculty members. The RAP and Post-doc positions are for three-year and two-year durations, respectively, with possible extension. The teaching load of these appointments is light, with one course each academic year. Applicants should have (i) a relevant PhD degree; and (ii) good potential for research and teaching.
Applicants should arrange at least 3 reference letters, 2 on research and 1 on teaching, to be submitted by the reference writers.
Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement. Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2021 and will continue until the positions are filled. |
