Position Description:

Description: The Case Western Reserve University Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics (MAMS) invites applications for one lecturer position. This non-tenure track position is renewable, contingent upon satisfactory performance and the department’s needs.

About CWRU: Case Western Reserve University is located in the University Circle cultural district of Cleveland, Ohio, home of the nationally top-ranked Cleveland Clinic, internationally famous Cleveland Orchestra, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Cleveland Institute of Art. Within a five-mile radius from CWRU are the nation's second largest theater district, several professional sports teams, a wide range of musical, artistic, and culinary venues, recreational opportunities, and numerous diverse communities in which to live.

Responsibilities and Duties: • Teach 3 undergraduate classes per semester, typically ranging from introductory to advanced undergraduate levels. It is likely that this lecturer will teach large section courses from time to time. • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours for advising and aiding students.

Minimum Qualifications: • Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field by the time of the appointment. • Record of excellence in undergraduate teaching. Experience with large lecture courses is preferred. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

The annual starting base salary range for this position is from $54,000-$58,587. CWRU considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
