Job Overview The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is seeking applicants for at least six Visiting Assistant Professorships to teach courses in mathematics and/or statistics at the undergraduate level. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is dedicated to excellence in both research and teaching. The department has a graduate program offering both MS and PhD degrees in mathematics and in statistics, with faculty that are dedicated to excellence and quality in both research and teaching. Appointments will begin on August 15, 2025, and will initially be for one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Essential Functions Teaching load will nominally be 12-15 credit hours distributed over the Fall and Spring semesters, and may include courses that are 3, 4 or 5 credit hours. These courses include but are not limited to: Applied Calculus, Calculus I, and Calculus II. There may be the opportunity to conduct research, with priority given to those with research interests in, but not limited to, the areas of Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Probability that overlaps with the research interests of the current faculty. Minimum Qualification PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field prior to the effective date of the appointment.
