The Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science of Columbia University in the City of New York invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist position for the Wiggins Research Group.

Duties involve, but are not limited to (i) perform research in the broad areas of mathematics of waves in non-homogeneous media and applications, and (ii) contribute to sustaining activities at Columbia University in these broad areas, through co-organizing seminars and an informal working group in these fields.

A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in engineering, statistics, or computer science is required and a commensurate record of research achievements as well as a demonstrated capability to manage doctoral students and technical staff in a research group. Publications in top journals, presentations at major research conferences, and international research experience with the promise of growth to meet the requirements of a Research Scientist are strongly preferred.
