The Department of Mathematics (DMATH) of the University of Luxembourg invites applications for a 2-year Postdoc position to start in September 2026.
The researcher will be a part of the research group of Prof. Claudio Llosa Isenrich in Geometric Group Theory, Complex Geometry and their interactions.
The successful candidate will be expected to
- Conduct research on topics related to the research interests of the group
- Participate in the scientific activities of the department of mathematics
- Contribute to the teaching mission of the department of mathematics for up to 90 hours per year
- Contribute to the outreach activities of the department of mathematics
Your Profile
- PhD of high quality in mathematics and an outstanding research record, relative to career stage, in a related domain.
- Interest in geometric group theory, complex geometry or related areas.
- Fluency in English or French.
Research interests currently represented in the group include but are not limited to: finiteness properties of groups and spaces, Dehn functions, Morse theory, the topology of smooth complex projective varieties, hyperbolic and non-positively curved groups and their subgroups, nilpotent groups and simple groups.

The current yearly gross salary for every postdoctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg is 85176 €.
