Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research complementary to the current strengths of the department, and teach one course a semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. This position is in support of the state-funded Tech Talent Investment Program (TTIP) which seeks to increase the number of Virginia graduates at the bachelor’s and master’s level in technology and computing related fields including mathematical sciences. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in the areas of computational and theoretical mathematics related to numerical analysis, data science, modeling, dynamical systems, mathematical biology, graph theory, combinatorics, and probability, but all disciplines will be considered. Starting date: Successful candidate can begin as early as spring semester 2023.
