Henan University, School of Mathematics and Statistics

The School of Mathematics and Statistics of Henan University, previously known as the Department of Mathematics and Physics of Zhongzhou University, was founded in 1923. It has a profound foundation over a hundred years and enjoys a high reputation both at home and abroad. It now boasts 132 faculty members, including 115 full-time lecturers, 100 doctoral degree recipients, 76 professors and associate professors, and 37 talents of high-level academics. There are two primary disciplines, mathematics and statistics, with the right to grant doctoral and master's degrees, as well as a postdoctoral research mobile station, and the right to grant master's degrees in subject teaching (mathematics) and applied statistics. There are four undergraduate majors offered, including Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Information and Computational Sciences, Statistics, and Financial Mathematics. Among them, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Financial Mathematics are national first-class construction majors, and Information and Computational Sciences are first-class construction majors in Henan Province. We have established research institutions such as the Henan Provincial Center for Applied Mathematics, the Henan Provincial Center for Artificial Intelligence Theory and Algorithm Engineering, and the Henan University Mathematics Research Center, as well as the English language professional academic publication "Mathematics Quarterly". It has formed its own advantages and distinctive features in the fields of partial differential equations and mathematical physics, complex analysis and geometry, algebra and number theory, probability theory and mathematical statistics, scientific computing, data analysis and intelligent processing.
