The Department of Mathematics at Aarhus University seeks candidates, characterized by excellence and vision in their research, for a Professor position in Mathematics.

Aarhus University is an international top-100 University with its campus located centrally within the coastal city of Aarhus, Denmark. The position is available from 1 November 2022.

In 2019 the Department of Mathematics underwent a strategy review, resulting in 10 specific goals being set for the period 2020—2025. See https://math.au.dk/en/about/strategy/. The purpose of this call is to add a new professor to the Mathematics group that can contribute to a stimulating environment, helping the department meet its strategic goals by the year 2025.

The Department of Mathematics currently employs 34 permanent scientific staff members in the traditional mathematical disciplines and stochastics. The Department is responsible for eight study programs: Bachelor and Master programs in Mathematics, Mathematics-Economics, and Data Science, as well as a Master programs in Statistics and Science Studies. The Department has a strong international profile in traditional areas of mathematics, and has close research ties to two interdisciplinary centers: “Aarhus University Centre for Digitalisation, Big Data and Data Analytics” (DIGIT), based at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, as well as “Bioinformatics Research Centre” (BiRC), based at the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
