Applications are invited for two tenure-track positions (one at Assistant and the other at Associate Professor level) starting in August 2022. The requirements for the positions include a doctoral degree or a doctoral degree expected by no later than July 2022 in Computational Statistics or Data Science, a commitment to effective graduate and under- graduate teaching, and demonstrated success in research. To be considered at the Associate level, applicants must have experience in directing theses and dissertations and be established researchers. Essential duties and responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses, providing direction and effective leadership for M.S. and Ph.D. students, developing a substantial research program in any areas of statistics and data science, which may include but not limited to big data, data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and engaging in departmental, university, and scientific community service functions. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers an M.S. degree in Statistics, a Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Sciences and will be contributing to the graduate program in Data Science of the University. Opportunities exist for interdisciplinary research and consulting in applied areas such as agricultural sciences, biological sciences, engineering, forestry, geo-sciences including remote sensing, and veterinary sciences, among others.
