Mathematics Instructors Department of Mathematical Sciences – College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Northern Illinois University

Anticipated full-time (non-tenure track) positions to begin August 16, 2023. Duties include instruction of undergraduate mathematics up through third semester calculus, holding office hours, and possibly tutoring in the Mathematics Assistance Center. The Department will strongly consider applicants who have an interest in transforming undergraduate programs to better serve students of diverse backgrounds. Experience teaching and mentoring students of diverse backgrounds is highly preferred.

Required Qualifications: M.S. or M.A. in mathematics or its equivalent required at the time of appointment. Experience teaching first or second year college mathematics with demonstrated excellence thereof required.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who have a record of supporting STEM and undergraduate education for a diverse student body.

Salary: $38,000-$48,000 commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications; includes a robust benefits package.
