School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences Associate Professor (Tenured) in Applied Mathematics Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 12th in the 2022 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. It is also placed 1st amongst the world's best young universities. We are looking for an outstanding mathematician willing to substantially contribute to the creation of new research activity in the interface between Geometry, Dynamics, and Mathematical Physics. This hiring intends to foster the interaction between mathematicians, physicists, and engineers in NTU via the development of innovative mathematical methods with applications to, for instance, fluid mechanics, nonlinear elasticity, field theory, non-equilibrium thermodynamics, plasmas, nonlinear control, or the earth sciences. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in mathematical modelling for these problems, as well as in numerical integration problems using geometric and variational tools. NTU provides a rich environment for interdisciplinary collaborations in these areas, including the Division of Physics and Applied Physics, the Asian School of the Environment, the Robotics Research Centre, and the Computational Intelligence research lab at the School of Computer Science and Engineering. Researchers with interests in:
are especially encouraged to apply. We are looking for candidates with Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or closely related fields. The College of Science seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from all and recruit on the basis of merit, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status and family responsibilities, or disability.
