The Department of Mathematics is seeking to fill two postdoctoral positions to work at the interface of theoretical neuroscience and applied algebra or topology. An ideal candidate is a new/recent mathematics Ph.D. with background in areas such as algebraic topology, geometry, or combinatorics; applicants in other fields will be also considered. Prior familiarity with neuroscience is not required, but interest in learning the relevant background is expected. The research associate will engage in the development of novel mathematical methods for understanding neural coding and neural networks. This position may include light teaching, depending on the preferences. This is a non-tenure track 48-week appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding. A Ph.D. in mathematics is required. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
