Position Description
The Department of Mathematics at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park Campus, PA, USA) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or an Associate Professor position in Mathematics. The position is open to all areas of pure mathematics, including dynamical systems, geometry, geometrical analysis, and algebra. Candidates whose research complements existing strengths or fosters connections within mathematics and across departments are encouraged to apply.Candidates for Assistant Professor must possess a Ph.D. (or equivalent terminal degree) in Mathematics or a closely related field by the appointment start date; must have demonstrated ability as a teacher or research worker; and must have shown definite evidence of growth in scholarly or professional achievement.
Candidates for Associate Professor must possess the same qualifications as the assistant professor but must also provide evidence of an established reputation in scholarly or professional achievement.

In addition to research in Mathematics or closely related fields, the position includes teaching in the Mathematics department at the undergraduate and graduate level, and service duties. Applicants will have been awarded a Ph.D. (or equivalent terminal degree) in Mathematics or a closely related field by the appointment start date.
