About us

The School of Mathematical Science has an exceptionally strong research presence across the spectrum of areas within Pure and Applied Mathematics and Statistics and is currently organised into seven research groups, namely: Algebra and Number Theory, Combinatorics, Complex Systems and Networks, Dynamical Systems and Statistical Physics, Geometry and Analysis, Probability and Applications, and Statistics and Data Science. The School also has large and popular undergraduate and graduate programmes. Moreover, the University is a partner of the Alan Turing Institute, facilitating exciting opportunities for collaborations with other academic institutions and industry.

Following a period of significant growth, the School comprises 74 academic staff and associate lecturers, 16 research assistants and 12 members of professional services staff. The School is home to around 90 PhD students, and approximately 1,000 undergraduates and 100 master level students. 

About the role

As the successful candidate, you will have strong leadership qualities and an interest in pursuing excellence in teaching and supervising graduate students, as well as having the ability and flexibility to teach across a range of topics in statistics and its applications at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Pay & Benefits

Starting salary will be in the range of £43,069 - £53,625 inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme, staff networks and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. The post is full-time and permanent starting as soon as possible thereafter.
