Position Description
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Queen’s University invites applications for a named professorship faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) in any area of the Mathematical Sciences, with a preferred starting date of July 1, 2025. Accomplished researchers and teachers in all areas of the mathematical sciences are invited to apply. The main criteria for selection are research and teaching excellence. Qualified candidates will have a proven record of outstanding achievement and internationally recognized excellence in research. The successful candidate's research will fit into and complement the areas already represented and will raise the overall research profile of the Department. The Department seeks candidates who have demonstrated leadership in innovative teaching in mathematics, and who have an interest in mathematical outreach and student mentoring at all levels. The successful candidate will also be expected to make contributions through service to the Department, the Faculty, the University, and/or the broader community. Candidates must be eligible for an appointment to the position of Assistant Professor (have a PhD or equivalent degree completed at the start date of the appointment), but applications are being accepted for candidates up to and including the level of Associate Professor. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position includes a fund available to support mathematical scholarship, and educational and outreach activities.
