Salary Range or Pay Grade

 

$93,000. This base pay is for a nine-month academic appointment. There may be opportunities for additional compensation over the summer. Rates will be determined based on project scope and level of effort.

 

Description

 

The University of Chicago Department of Statistics invites applications for the position of William H. Kruskal Instructor. We seek recent or expected Ph.D. graduates doing advanced research with a connection to statistical theory, methodology and applications, probability theory, machine learning, or data science. Kruskal Instructor responsibilities include engagement in independent research and teaching up to three quarter-long courses per year in statistics or related fields. The appointment is for a term of up to three years.

Qualifications

 

Required: Completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related field by the time of hire. 

 

Preferred: research interests related to those of faculty in the Department of Statistics https://cam.uchicago.edu/people/#faculty.
