Research Assistant Professor, Simons Center for Geometry & Physics - Mathematics (Non-Tenure Track Postdoc Position)

Location: Stony Brook, NY Open Date: Oct 19, 2023 Deadline: Nov 15, 2023 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time

Description The Simons Center for Geometry & Physics has three open positions for Mathematics Research Assistant Professors available with a starting date of September 1, 2024. These are non-tenure track appointments offering an annual salary of $85,000. A research fund of of $5,000 will be offered for scientific travel, inviting visitors and other research related expenses on a yearly basis; in addition $2,000 will be provided to defray moving expenses in the first year.

We seek candidates with an outstanding research potential in the field of geometry, very broadly interpreted.

The Simons Center for Geometry and Physics is an endowed research organization devoted to furthering fundamental knowledge in geometry and theoretical physics; especially knowledge at the interface of these two disciplines.

Simons Lecturers - The Mathematics Department at Stony Brook University expects to have one Simons Instructor (SUNY title of Lecturer) position and one Douglas Instructor ( SUNY title of Lecturer) position available beginning in the fall 2024 semester, contingent on funding availability. A Simons/ Douglas Instructor position is a three-year post-doctoral level appointment with a competitive salary and reduced teaching.
