Job Summary

The Department of Mathematics is seeking applicants to fill one tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Statistics beginning August 1, 2026.  Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or statistics with a strong mathematical background from an accredited institution by the start date.   For information about the department, please see http://www.tntech.edu/cas/math/.  The formal review of completed applications will begin on December 15th.  All completed applications thereafter will be considered as time permits. 

Key Responsibilities

·      Demonstrate the ability to teach, develop, and implement courses related to one’s curricular area and serve the overall teaching needs of the department.

·      Maintain an active research agenda in Statistics and related fields.

·      Be willing and able to lead graduate student research projects.

·      Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of the Mathematics Department and the greater campus community
