Tufts University, Department of Mathematics Tenure Track Position Mathematical Aspects of AI The Department of Mathematics at Tufts University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mathematics, beginning Fall 2025, at the assistant professor level. Preference will be given to applicants whose research is connected with formal proof verification or other mathematical aspects of AI. This could include type theory, categorical logic, use of large language models for automated theorem proving, statistical and machine learning theory, and analysis of AI algorithms. Applicants must hold a doctorate in Mathematics, or a related field, by the beginning of the appointment, must have an active research program, show promise of outstanding research, and exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach and develop courses and mentor student projects at the intersection of mathematics and AI.
