The Department of Mathematics at Tulane University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computational Applied Mathematics to begin in the fall 2022. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level are preferred but applicants at the Associate Professor level may also be considered. We seek candidates who have established or have demonstrated the potential for a strong record of independent research and are committed to excellence in teaching. The typical teaching load is three courses per year, with a standard reduction to two courses for junior faculty. We seek candidates in all areas of computational mathematics, including scientific computation, numerical analysis, and mathematical modeling; particularly, those who will connect with and enhance our department’s current research.

In all cases, the successful candidates will be expected to (1) develop and carry out a program of research and other scholarly activities; and (2) teach and advise students at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels.
