Postdoctoral Position in Number Theory and Representation Theory Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences University of Alberta Commencing Fall 2026 The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Number Theory and Representation Theory, beginning in Fall 2026. We are particularly interested in candidates specializing in automorphic forms, arithmetic groups, p-adic groups, Kac-Moody groups, and (geometric) representation theory. This position is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal for additional years. The Scholarship includes a teaching component, requiring the successful candidate to teach at most one course per year. The position also offers opportunities to lead and organize research seminars. The Scholarship is valued at approximately 60,000 CAD per year (inclusive of a teaching stipend of one course per year), with additional funding available for research-related expenses. Postdoctoral Scholars and their eligible dependents will be enrolled in the University of Alberta’s Postdoctoral Scholars Benefit Plan. Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD in mathematics or physics by the start of the fellowship.
