Position Description

The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles, invites applications for Assistant Adjunct Professorships. Appointments are normally for two years, with the possibility of renewal for a third year. The teaching load is typically six one-quarter courses per year.

The department is particularly interested in hiring applicants who will contribute primarily to fulfill teaching needs, and have a limited responsibility for research activities. The ideal candidate has wide professional experience in mathematical education, extending outside of lecturing in R1 math departments, and will play a role in integrating these professional teaching practices into our department. Applicable experiences could include teaching in other departments, at other educational institutions, including precollege or junior college, or implementing other forms of pedagogy including active learning in college math classes.
