INTRODUCTION

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Connecticut (UConn) invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor position at its Storrs campus. This full-time, non-tenure track, nine-month faculty appointment will begin August 23, 2023 with an expected duration of three years, renewed annually. The teaching load will be two courses per semester or the equivalent.

Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests intersect with those of the permanent faculty.

Founded in 1881, UConn is a Land Grant and Sea Grant institution and member of the Space Grant Consortium. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in mathematics.
  • University-level teaching experience.
  • Evidence of research potential in mathematics.
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity in higher education through research and teaching.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Research expertise that complements that of the Department’s permanent faculty and a record of research activity.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, 9-month position with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2023. The initial duration will be for one year, renewable annually for up to two additional years (three years total). The successful candidate’s academic appointment will be at the Storrs campus. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
