The Department of Mathematics in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks applicants to fill a position of either Instructor or Lecturer. This position involves teaching a range of courses in the department.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

•Teach 3 mathematics courses per semester.  These may include large service courses and/or small discussion sections.
•Supervise TAs and graders for these courses.
•Develop and maintain curriculum and stewardship material for these courses.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

•Master’s degree in Mathematics for Instructor.  
•Ph.D. in Mathematics for Lecturer.
•College teaching experience.
•Evidence of quality teaching.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience teaching large introductory service courses.
•Experience with TA supervision.
•Experience in course development.

 

The Instructor/Lecturer position is full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track positions.  For details on benefits please refer to https://www.hr.uillinois.edu/benefits. The proposed start date is August 16, 2022, with service dates of August 16, 2022 – May 15, 2023. Renewal of the position is possible and contingent on availability of funding, strong enrollments, and strong performance reviews.  Renewed appointments will be on a 9 month service basis (Aug 16- May 15).  Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
