About the Position: The University of Minnesota's School of Mathematics seeks to hire temporary positions at the lecturer level for the coming academic year. These positions are specifically designed to provide instructional coverage for permanent faculty who will be on sabbatical leave in the 2026-27 academic year. However the School of Mathematics frequently has ongoing needs for outstanding instructors and successful candidates may be encouraged to apply for future permanent positions as they become available, contingent upon departmental need. Full-time lecturers will teach three courses per semester. Partial appointments with correspondingly reduced teaching loads are also possible. Course assignments may range from lower division undergraduate courses to upper division courses primarily taken by math majors. Responsibilities: Serve as instructor of record for mathematics undergraduate or graduate-level courses per academic year; Prepare course materials including syllabus; Deliver course content; Respond to student inquiries via email, phone, or in person; Grade all student materials including exams, papers, presentations and final exams; Submit final grades; Courses may be offered online or in person Required Qualifications: PhD degree in the mathematical sciences or a related field Experience serving as the instructor of record for university-level undergraduate or graduate math courses Application Requirements: All applications should be submitted through MathJobs.
