The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for the inaugural Klein Distinguished Professor in Mathematics and Statistics. This professorship includes research support from the Klein endowment. Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field, and have established themselves as internationally recognized researchers with a demonstrated record of scholarship and leadership in mathematics or statistics. The position is available at either the associate professor rank (“Distinguished Scholar”) or the full professor rank (“Distinguished Professor”). The selected candidate will establish and lead a cutting-edge research program in mathematics and statistics at UNC Charlotte, fostering collaboration within the department and across departments and colleges in alignment with strategic research areas (UNC Charlotte Research Areas). The department has active research programs in algebra, combinatorics and number theory, analysis, dynamical systems, numerical analysis and scientific computing, partial differential equations and mathematical physics, probability and stochastic processes, statistics and biostatistics, and topology. UNC Charlotte is especially looking for a faculty member who can enhance the existing activities and expand into emerging areas of mathematics and statistics.
