Applications are invited for a full-time, fixed-term position at the Teaching Assistant or Associate Professor level, beginning July 2026. The Department invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor or Teaching Associate Professor in Actuarial Science. This is a renewable, non-tenure track position with an initial contract of three years (or five years if hired at the rank of a Teaching Associate Professor) that is subsequently considered for renewals, with the possibility of eventual promotions to higher ranks (Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor) and longer-term contracts with an intended career trajectory. The successful candidate will teach six undergraduate courses across the academic year (two semesters). In addition to teaching, responsibilities for this position include academic advising and mentoring of undergraduate students majoring in Statistics and Analytics and taking actuarial science courses. Active participation in departmental life (including committee service, support of departmental initiatives, and contributions to collaborative projects), is expected. Supplemental summer teaching assignments are generally available for those interested, for additional compensation. Successful candidates will have a PhD in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a closely related field paired with an actuarial credential such as an ASA, ACAS, FSA, or FCAS. Candidates making significant progress toward the credential are encouraged to apply. Candidates must also demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness.
