| The Department of Computer Science and Statistics at the University of Rhode Island is looking for an Assistant Teaching Professor (ATP) in Statistics to start in Spring semester 2023. The Statistics group currently has 5 full-time faculty members and 2 lecturers and offers a variety of statistics courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. The group is young, growing and involved in research, teaching, curriculum development and outreach. This position beginning in the academic year Spring semester 2023, is to begin January 2023, with the expectation for yearly renewal. The position is full-time academic year, non-tenure, limited to 07-01-2023 with anticipated renewal, and is covered under the URI/AAUP contract.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruct 12 credits (or the equivalent, as needed) of statistics courses per semester. Other equivalent responsibilities could include the following: Assist the department in developing pedagogies and approaches to enhance learning outcomes and retention in statistics courses. Participate in outreach activities and on departmental and/or University committees, to support and improve instruction and to provide advice on curriculum in the department and at the institution.
