A Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences or a related area is required at the time of appointment. No knowledge in molecular biology is necessary, however an interest in mathematically studying bimolecular processes is expected, and some experience in coding is preferred.

These positions carry a one-year appointment and may be renewed for up to three years depending on satisfactory performance and continued funding. The postdoctoral fellowship positions are pertinent to the projects led by Professor Jonoska listed below:

• Modeling as well as NGS data analysis of ribonucleotide incorporation in human genomic DNA and on RNA:DNA hybrid involvement in DNA repair. This is a collaborative project with Professor Francesca Storici at the Georgia Institute of Technology (http://www.storicilab.gatech.edu/). Prof. Jonoska and Storici are senior members of the Southeast Center for Mathematics and Biology (https://scmb.gatech.edu/).
• Understanding computation and information processing in three-dimensional space through bottom-up assembly of structures, knots and links. This is a collaborative project with Professors Nadrian C. Seeman at New York University (https://as.nyu.edu/faculty/nadrian-seeman.html) and Chengde Mao at Purdue University, Illinois (https://www.chem.purdue.edu/mao/).
• Topological models of RNA-DNA hybrid formation. This is a collaborative project with Professors Mariel Vazquez (https://biology.ucdavis.edu/people/mariel-vazquez) and Frederic Chedin (https://biology.ucdavis.edu/people/frederic-chedin) at University of California at Davis.
