The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) emphasizes the importance of math and science in its curriculum. The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, located in Kings Point, New York is a four-year Federal Service Academy. We are seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in Mathematics at the Assistant Professor level. To qualify for the mathematics (Assistant Professor) position you must possess a Doctorate degree in Mathematics from an accredited college or university. A minimum of one year fulltime (or equivalent) experience teaching undergraduate level Calculus, Differential Equations and/or Probability and Statistics courses in a college or university, other than as part of a teaching assistantship, is required. Experience in applied mathematics is preferred. Experience with computer programing and computer languages such as Python is a plus. The academic year is 11 months. Salary is competitive. The incumbent will be a federal employee, and the position is in the Federal Excepted Service. U. S. citizenship is required.
