The Research Fellow will work closely with A/Prof David Ridout on leading-edge research in representation-theoretic aspects of affine vertex operator (super)algebras, W-algebras, their associated conformal field theories and related fields. This work is funded by the Australian Research Council’s Future Fellowships scheme and is expected to result in the publication of high quality papers in top mathematical physics and pure mathematics journals.
The successful candidate will have experience in vertex algebra representation theory and/or conformal field theory, as well as knowledge of the geometry of nilpotent orbits, exotic modular forms, tensor categories or higher-dimensional conformal gauge theories. The Research Fellow will be part of the School of Mathematics and Statistics’ Mathematical Physics and/or Representation Theory groups.
To be considered for this position you will have a PhD or equivalent research higher degree in mathematics, mathematical physics or theoretical physics and demonstrated research excellence with regard to career stage.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 3 years.
