Your next career opportunity
You
will lead statistical and computational methods development for
high-dimensional omics and cell-level data at the quantum–biology interface.
You will design reproducible software, publish internationally, and build
collaborations across QUBIC, Melbourne Integrative Genomics and beyond.
What you will deliver:
- Lead development, evaluation and
benchmarking of statistical and quantum-inspired methods for
high-dimensional omics and cell-based data.
- Develop and maintain reproducible
research software, workflows and documentation using robust version
control and good coding practices.
- Collaborate with QUBIC partners and
interdisciplinary researchers to translate new methods into applied
analyses and usable tools.
- Contribute to funding proposals,
project reporting, seminars and conferences that disseminate findings and
strengthen collaborations.
- Support supervision of students and
junior researchers, and engage in School and QUBIC service and outreach
activities.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold a PhD in statistics,
computational biology, quantum computing, or a closely related
quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrate research strength in
statistical methods development for high-dimensional omics, ideally
including single-cell or cell-based data.
- Possess hands-on experience
analysing large biological datasets, from preprocessing and quality
control to interpretation of results.
- Use GitHub or similar platforms for
version control, with an active profile showcasing ongoing code
development.
- Show interest or experience in
quantum-inspired or quantum computing methods relevant to data analysis
and modelling.
- Thrive in multidisciplinary teams,
managing multiple tasks and timelines while communicating clearly with
diverse collaborators.

Your new team – “Lê Cao Lab, Melbourne Integrative
Genomics (MIG)”

will join the Lê Cao Lab within Melbourne Integrative Genomics in the School of
Mathematics and Statistics. This interdisciplinary centre applies advanced
maths, statistics and computing to omics data, tackling frontier biological

opportunity.

Demonstrated experience in analysing high-dimensional
biological data, including appropriate preprocessing, quality control, and
interpretation of results.
o
Demonstrated experience in version control on Github
and an active GitHub profile evidencing ongoing code development and/or
contributions.
