The Mathematics Department of Washington University in St. Louis, MO has up to two openings for tenure track Assistant Professor in mathematics, to begin August 2023. Candidates sought for the positions are in the fields of analysis and geometry/topology. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field is required at the time of hire. Responsibilities include teaching three one-semester courses per year, maintaining a strong research program, publishing the results of the research, and normal student advising and departmental and university service. Competitive applicants will have a distinguished research record. Applicants in all areas of analysis will be considered, and researchers working in harmonic analysis, operator theory, operator algebras, function theory, partial differential equations, or complex analysis (one or several variables) are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants in all areas of geometry/topology will be considered, and researchers working in Riemannian geometry, symplectic geometry, differential topology, low dimensional topology, and those areas of dynamical system with close links to geometry/topology are especially encouraged to apply. Outstanding applications in all fields will be considered.

Applicants should provide their CV, publication list, research and teaching statements, and arrange for four letters of recommendation to be submitted. At least one of the letters should report on the applicant's teaching abilities.
