Successful applicants will be supervised by Roy Lederman (https://roy.lederman.name/) and affiliated with the Department of Statistics and Data Science, the Program in Applied Mathematics, the Institute of Quantitative Biology (QBio). Research opportunities are available in the mathematics of data science and machine learning, inverse problems in biology and imaging (such as cryo-Electron Microscopy (cryo-EM)), and computational mathematics. Collaboration with additional members of the Department of Statistics and Data Science, the Program in Applied Mathematics, the Department of Mathematics, QBio, the Institute for Foundations (FDS) of Data Science, and/or the Wu Tsai Institute on theory and applications, promoting interaction between programs will be encouraged. Skills and Qualifications: * Originality, independence, leadership, collegiality, and genuine passion for science. * Ph.D. (or expected Ph.D.) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (signal processing or information theory), or related area.
