The School of Science and Technology invites applications for a position as Lecturer in Applied Mathematics.
Our world class Mathematics group is located in the School of Science and Technology, and is engaged in research in non-linear analysis, complex analysis and mathematical modelling in biology. This research is supported by current ARC Discovery grants and fellowship awards, as well as an active program of PhD supervision and postdoctoral visiting positions. Other disciplines in the School include Statistics, Biomedical Science, Physics and Electronics, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Exercise and Sports Science and Computer Science. The School conducts teaching and research through an exciting range of undergraduate, honours, postgraduate taught courses and research degrees by dissertation within these disciplines.

About the role
 
The successful appointee will take an active role in the research efforts of the School of Science and Technology and will teach a selection of mathematics units, ranging from large first year classes to specialised postgraduate units in on-campus and online education modes. We are looking for outstanding applicants who provide high quality curricula, teaching and assessment in mathematics to enhance student learning and are able to build or participate in multi-disciplinary collaborations with researchers in the biological and environmental sciences, and other relevant areas.

Skills & Experience

Applicants will have a competitive track record of research in applied mathematics or related areas and capacity for HDR supervision. A PhD (or near completion) in the areas of Applied Mathematics or Quantitative Modelling (preferably in the biological or life sciences, agriculture or environmental fields) will provide opportunity for HDR supervision and collaboration with other disciplines across the university.
