The Center for Statistical Science at Peking University is a cross-campus research center of Statistics. Members of the Center consist of statistical faculties from several schools within PKU. The goals of the center are to integrate statistical faculties across different schools in producing high quality statistical research and engaging in cross-discipline collaborations within this leading university in China. Since its establishment in 2010, the Center has recruited 9 faculties. There are more than 20 additional faculties affiliated with the center on the main campus of PKU.


Position Description: Multiple Open Rank tenure-track or tenured positions in Statistics and related fields, with expected starting date from September 1, 2018.


There are multiple open rank tenure-track or tenured positions joint with Department of Probability and Statistics (DPS) and Department of Financial Mathematics (DFM), School of Mathematical Science. The candidates will be expected to pursue innovative research at the highest level; to establish an internationally reputable program; to have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. The positions with DPS are in broadly defined areas of Statistics or Probability. For positions in Probability, candidates whose research areas are closely related to the modern statistics and who can provide probability support to modern statistical theory and practice are desired. The positions with DFM seek applicants whose research agenda is in Financial Mathematics/Statistics, Actuarial Science or closely related fields.


There are multiple open rank tenure-track or tenured positions with School of Public Health (SPH) at Peking University. The successful applicants will contribute to the mission of the Biostatistics Program at the Peking University: to serve as a source of expertise and a focus for training and research in the quantitative aspects of public health and medicine; and to promote the use of rigorous quantitative methods in the biomedical and public health sciences through methodological research, teaching, and services.

Duties & Responsibilities: Research, teaching, graduate student supervision, collaborative research. Teaching is conducted in Chinese and/or English.

Salary Range: Competitive salary depending on the level of appointment and experience.


Benefits: In additional to the standard benefits for faculties at PKU, a settling down allowance and a start-up grant will be provided.
