Position Description:    

Lehigh University's Department of Mathematics is seeking to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Algebraic Geometry beginning Fall 2018. We seek individuals with a specialization in an area of algebraic geometry that would enhance and complement the research interests of an active geometry group. Areas of current department research in geometry include but are not limited to: algebraic geometry, arithmetic geometry, complex geometry, differential geometry, and geometric analysis. Other related areas of active research include algebra, algebraic combinatorics, algebraic topology, discrete mathematics, and number theory. Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent; the pursuit of a vigorous research program; and a commitment to deliver high quality teaching and mentoring to undergraduate, masters and doctoral students. Lehigh University publishes the Journal of Differential Geometry.

The department is looking for a scholar who will contribute to the activities of the department and the university. Postdoctoral experience is desirable, but not required.

The department expects to fill multiple positions over the next five years and may consider exceptional applicants in other areas that fit upcoming departmental needs.
