Description: Tenure-track position starting on August 22, 2018.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have a doctorate in Mathematics Education, or Mathematics by time of appointment, demonstrate evidence of excellent teaching and research, and knowledge required to teach upper level courses for the mathematics major. The candidate must demonstrate an interest in teaching a broad range of mathematics courses to a diverse body of students, and collaborate with stakeholders in Mathematics education in the immediate service area. Interdisciplinary collaboration with other faculty in the University is strongly encouraged.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of outreach work, experience in Common Core curriculum, and engagement in undergraduate and graduate research mentorship.

Teaching/Research: 

The teaching load will be 12 units/semester where most of the courses are 4 units each. Almost all courses in the Department of Mathematics include an activity/problem solving session.  Assigned time for research and grant activity is standard during the first two years of appointment, and subsequently on a competitive basis. It is expected the successful candidate will develop a research agenda and maintain a publication record.
