Candidates must possess a Ph.D.
in statistics by August 2018. Candidates
in closely related disciplines also will be considered, if their scholarship
and professional involvement demonstrate commitment to and identification with
the field of
statistics. In addition, the successful candidate must have excellent
communication skills and demonstrated teaching excellence or potential. The
successful candidate must be engaged in a viable program of ongoing
research. The successful candidate also must have an interest in developing curricula
and supervising student research as part of a growing Master’s Degree Program
in Applied Statistics. Responsibilities will include teaching up
to four courses per semester including graduate courses in statistics,
undergraduate courses in statistics, as well as other undergraduate mathematics
courses. Preference will be given to individuals with background in Data
Science and with the potential to develop curriculum in this area. Applications

vitae; all graduate transcripts; a brief statement of teaching philosophy; a
brief research prospectus and three recent letters of recommendation, at least
one of which addresses communication skills and teaching potential. Finalists
must successfully complete an interview process that includes a teaching
demonstration and a research talk to the Department’s faculty and upper
division students. Preference
