Position Description:    

The Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences at Lewis University seeks a full-time, tenure track faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank. This position will begin August 2018.

Located 25 miles southwest of Chicago, Lewis University is a Catholic university in the Lasallian tradition offering distinctive undergraduate and graduate programs to a growing and diverse student population. Primary Responsibilities: • Teach 24 semester hours per year; courses for our undergraduate and graduate students, including in our various graduate programs. • Service to the department and university • Student advising • Conduct research in Computer Science with the help of undergraduate and graduate students

Minimum Qualifications: A PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required. The ideal candidate will be a skillful and enthusiastic teacher to our undergraduate students in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, and one who is willing to work with them not only in the classroom but out of it, including on research projects and computer-science related extracurricular activities. The ideal candidate will also possess the knowledge needed to help create and teach courses in our various successful graduate programs, including the Master of Science degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, and Information Security. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a record of coursework and scholarship in computer networking, cyber security, data science and/or embedded computing. Excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of formats including traditional, online and blended courses.
