Position Description:    

The Department of Mathematics at Queens College of the City University of New York invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in Mathematics beginning Fall 2018. The area of expertise is open; however, we are particularly interested in prospective candidates with expertise in Applied Mathematics, of which those specializing in Statistics, Applied Statistics or Data Science will be preferred.

Responsibilities: The duties of this position include establishing a record of research and scholarship via peer-reviewed publication; teaching undergraduate and Master's level courses in Mathematics and Statistics; serving on departmental and college-wide committees; working cooperatively with colleagues, and mentoring students. The successful candidate must be committed to teaching a diverse student body.  

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in either Mathematics or Statistics by June 1, 2018. They must provide significant evidence of scholarly promise and achievement as well as excellent teaching credentials. Demonstrated potential for superior achievement in interdisciplinary research is desired. Post-doctoral experience is preferred, but not required.
