Professorship (W3) in Analysis


We are looking for an internationally recognized outstanding scientist in the area of Functional Analysis relating to Partial Differential Equations. We are especially interested in applicants whose research interests include Harmonic Analysis, Spectral and Operator Theory, or Stochastic Analysis. Participation in the research focus "Partial Differential Equations" and the Collaborative Research Center 1173 "Wave Phenomena" at the Department of Mathematics is expected.

The successful candidate will take part in lecturing the broad spectrum of courses in analysis and service responsibilities at the Institute of Analysis. In particular, she or he will be responsible for the cycle of "Advanced Mathematics" courses for students of computer science. The appointed professor is expected to teach in German after a reasonable amount of time.

The appointed professor will take part in the collegial governance of the institute of analysis and the academic self-governance of the faculty of mathematics.
