Endowed Associate Professor in Mathematics/Mathematics Education

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) invites applications for a named endowed chair position at the associate professor level to begin in August 2018.  A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required.

The successful candidate will be awarded the Haddix Community Chair in Mathematics and will work closely with existing Haddix Community Chairs (STEM Education, Science, Computer Science, and Physical Science) to jointly address the critical nation-wide challenges associated with the lack of scientists and teachers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields and place UNO at the forefront of professional innovation in the preparation of STEM teachers and STEM majors.

We seek candidates who have a demonstrated interest in high impact learning experiences, experiences that are accompanied by corresponding student achievements. A successful candidate must have a commitment to retention, a proven ability to work with math educators (in-service as well as pre-service), have a proven track record of external funding, and be a team player excited to collaborate with others across STEM areas on campus.

Successful candidates will have an active research program.
