Salary package: $70,107 - $88,446 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Term: Full-time, Fixed-Term for two (2) years research only, or three (3) years with teaching duties equivalent to teaching one semester course per year.

The Mathematical Sciences Institute is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A) for up to three years. The successful applicant will have a strong research potential in Analysis and Geometry, demonstrated by high quality preprints and/or publications. The successful candidate will collaborate with Professor Andrew Hassell (Australian National University ) and Dr Jesse Gell-Redman (University of Melbourne) on the Australian Research Council Discovery Grant DP180100589 entitled “Global wavefront set propagation and non-elliptic Fredholm theory”.

Outstanding mathematical research, communications skills and an impressive publication record are major criteria. Expertise in microlocal analysis, particularly related to pseudodifferential and Fourier integral operators, and propagation of singularities, will also be essential to this position. 

The position is available for two years as a research only position, or three years with some teaching duties. Applicants must have a record of high quality teaching and provide a teaching reference in order to be considered for the three year position.
