Position Description:    

The Yau Mathematical Sciences Center (YMSC) of Tsinghua University is a leading center in China. By February 2018, it has nine professors, seven associate professors, twenty-seven assistant professors, thirty-five post-doctoral fellows and nine mathematicians as part-time members. Prof. Donald B. Rubin, currently the John L. Loeb Professor of Statistics at Harvard University, will join the YMSC full-time this fall. YMSC aims to build a premier research team around Prof. Rubin on statistic and related areas. In view of this, we are seeking several postdoctoral fellows with expertise in one of three areas: (1) Statistics, computer science or other related major. (2) Big data analytics. (3) Artificial intelligence. Requirements (1) Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in statistical science, computer science or other related major; (2) Demonstrated capability on high level and original research in the area of statistical science, computer science and so on; (3) Fluent in spoken and written English. Successful candidates will work semi-independently under the supervision of Prof. Donald Rubin. A typical appointment for post-doctorate fellowship of YMSC is for two-years, renewable for the third years. Salary and compensation package are determined by qualification, accomplishment, and experience. YMSC offers internationally competitive packages. Brief introduction of Prof. Donald B. Rubin Prof. Donald B. Rubin is the John L. Loeb Professor of Statistics at Harvard University. He is the Fellow of American Academy of Arts and Sciences, American Statistical Association and so on. He is most well-known for the Rubin Causal Model, a set of methods designed for causal inference with observational data, and for his methods for dealing with missing data. As a statistician, his research focuses on the design of empirical studies, including surveys and experiments, and the analysis of data from such studies. As of 2017, he has authored/coauthored over 400 publications (including ten books), has four joint patents, and for many years has been one of the most highly cited authors in the world, with currently over 200,000 citations and nearly 20,000 in 2016 alone (Google Scholar).
