Position Description:    

The Department of Applied Mathematics (AM) at the University of California Santa Cruz invites applications for a postdoctoral research scholar with starting date expected between November 2018 and January 2019. The research project, funded by the U.S. Army Research Office, is about the numerical approximation of nonlinear functionals and functional differential equations. Interested applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics or a closely related field by the beginning of the appointment. We seek outstanding candidates whose research interests lie at the intersection between high-performance scientific computing, mathematical physics and nonlinear functional analysis.
