Postdoc position in mathematics (algebra) at the University of Technology Graz (TU Graz). Three years, extension to six years possible, starting date between Jan 15, 2019 and May 1, 2019. The position requires a strong background in algebra. Most relevant is commutative ring theory. Additional qualifications in group theory, algebraic combinatorics, algebraic number theory, and topological methods in ring theory are most welcome. The postdoc will do research focused on, but not limited to, some of the following topics: Commutative ring theory and multiplicative ideal theory, polynomial functions on commutative and non-commutative rings, integer-valued polynomials, polynomial functions on finite rings, groups of polynomial permutations on finite rings, topological methods in commutative ring theory, linear algebra over commutative rings More information here: http://blah.math.tugraz.at/postdoc.html To apply, follow the instructions on the website carefully. This postdoc position is located at the Institute of Analysis and Number Theory at the University of Technology Graz (Technische Universität Graz / TU Graz), in Graz, Austria, supported by the FWF grant project P30934-N35 "integer-valued polynomials on algebras" (lead by Sophie Frisch). The position is initially for 3 years, starting anytime between January 15, 2019 and May 1, 2019. It can be extended for a further 3 years, to six years, total, if the postdoc collaborates on a new grant proposal and this proposal is successful.
