The Mathematics Department at the University of Maryland invites applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor, with an appointment beginning on July 1, 2019, or later. The search is especially targeted in the area of Mathematical Statistics and Computational Statistics. Applicants must present evidence of exceptional accomplishments and promise in both research and teaching. Duties include research in statistics (theory, methodology and computation), data science collaborations, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and departmental and university service. 

Qualified individuals are invited to submit a letter of application and a curriculum vitae to: Applicants' file should include four letters of recommendation, one of which should address teaching. Candidates for a tenured position may submit names of three references, who would be contacted at the appropriate time by the Department. For best consideration the application should be received by December 1, 2018.
