Position Description:    

The Department of Mathematics at the State University of New York at New Paltz invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions beginning in Fall 2019. 

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field prior to the beginning of the contract. Preference will be given to candidates whose research is in the area of algebra or geometry/topology, broadly understood, but applicants from all areas of pure mathematics are encouraged to apply.  The successful candidate will be expected to excel at teaching undergraduate students both inside and outside the classroom, to maintain an active research program, and to provide service to the department and university.
